Eden goes underground with Speakeasy club night at the Arts Café on June 5

May 29, 2009

After the huge success of May’s Drum and Bass Awards, the Eden Project’s Arts Café is presenting a Speakeasy club night on Friday June 5.

The evening features special guests Top Shelf Jazz – purveyors of ‘live’ swing serving tantalising echoes of British dance hall, Harlem swing and a dangerous hint of Gypsy jazz rolled into one hot musical menagerie.

Gig goers will also get their regular fill of Arts Café residents, Jelly Jazz, with their vinyl slapping soul, funk, jazzy breaks, salsa and Latino beats.

Eden events manager Beth Lewitt said: “Whether it’s arts, music, film, dance or just a good night out, Arts Cafe is attracting revellers from far and wide every month. The night has really taken off. Don’t miss this Arts Café as it’s the last until August due to the Eden Sessions in July.

“Alongside the music, the Marketplace of Ideas is a hive of activity with contributions from Sustainable Energy, the Police and Health Service, Clay Futures and Green Spaces all focussing on community futures and what differences this generation can make in the future."

Tickets cost £7 per person and come with a free drink if booked in advance on 01726 811972.
