Eden Project ale festival returns, bigger and beerier than ever

June 11, 2009

The Great Eden Ale Festival returns to the Eden Project from August 22 to 30. The event is a celebration of Cornwall’s rich brewing culture and a chance to sample the county’s finest beers and ciders.

As well as Eden Pure Ale, the Sharp’s Brewery beer developed with Eden to prove than an environmentally-friendly tipple can still taste great, and Honey Spice Beer, a new Sharp’s and Eden concoction, visitors will be able to sample beers from more than 20 different breweries.

To accompany the beer, Eden will have a special menu of freshly-produced dishes designed to complement each brew. Live music from retro swing five-piece Top Shelf Jazz will punctuate the week and there will be information and workshops on home-brewing and growing your own hops and apples.

Bethany Lewitt, Eden’s Events Manager, said: “There’s nothing quite like sipping a pint in a sunny beer garden and this festival will see Eden transformed into probably the greatest beer garden in the world!”

Between July 27 and September 6, Eden’s team of bushcraft and survival experts will be on site every day to demonstrate essential survival skills, including making fire without matches, building shelters, foraging for food and constructing rafts.

Entry to the Great Eden Ale Festival is included in standard Eden admission (adults £16, seniors £11, students £8, children £5, families £38). Allow Eden to treat your normal admission fee as a gift and get free entry for a year. For more details, call 01726 811972 or visit www.edenproject.com.
